Miriam Stern, MSW, LCSW is the Founder and Executive Director of Meridian Counseling Services. She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and has worked in counseling services for over 25 years. Miriam has worked in inpatient hospitals and day treatment programs as well as outpatient treatment. She specializes in treating addictions, trauma, grief and loss, anxiety and panic, Postpartum Mood Disorders, and sexual orientation issues. She has advanced training in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and is certified in Clinical Supervision and EMDR Level II. She has guest-lectured on Motivational Interviewing, Assessing and Treating Mental Illness and Substance Abuse, and Treating Trauma at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Rutgers University, and The Richard Stockton College. She has also presented to other psychotherapists on Treating Trauma, Motivational Interviewing, and Treating Postpartum Depression. Miriam’s writings on Communication and Boundaries have been published in a Peer Support Program training manual.
